Adult Christian Initiation

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the formal process for adults who are seeking to be baptised. Once accepted as a candidate for the Sacraments of Christian Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist), the adult candidates, who are now called catechumens, meet with the parish RCIA team. There is no set program as the formation depends on the background of each catechumen. The period of formation usually lasts several months.
